Since starting at the Children’s Learning Center, my daughter’s world has expanded tremendously. Her confidence, curiosity, and creativity have all benefited from a consistent peer group and a patient and engaging group of teachers.

Without the Center’s help, my wife and I would not be able to provide this level of care for our daughter.

As a single parent seeking higher education, the center makes it possible for me to attend classes, study, and work; knowing that Caleb is in a safe and loving environment. The Learning Center at Hunter College plays one of the most important roles in my education at Hunter and is deeply appreciated.

Funding for this program must continue because the benefit goes far beyond my education.

I’m often asked how I can manage graduate school while raising 2 four- year-olds. The reality is that I couldn’t do it without the Center. After being rejected by over 20 public Pre-K programs (including our zoned school which had 18 spaces available for 550 kids). I was afraid that we wouldn’t be able to afford a quality Pre-K education. I feel very fortunate that my children found a nurturing and loving environment at the Learning Center and will be well prepared when they enter kindergarten.

Next year, the after-school program will help me manage classes so that I can graduate on schedule and contribute more to our household income. The Center is an invaluable resource to parent’s working to better their future opportunities.

The Center has been one of the main reasons why I applied to this University. As soon as I arrived in New York from Italy, I found out that its great reputation is well known all over the City. I am proud of having my son enrolled in this center. He is receiving a great, valuable education in a wonderful environment.

The Children’s Learning Center at Hunter College is the only place which gave me an opportunity to earn my bachelor’s degree while being a mom of two children. Without their nurturing care, homely environment and child loving staff, I would not have felt safe leaving my children there.

In addition to all of these benefits the Children’s Learning Center at Hunter College is the only place that a single-income family like ours can afford to care for kids. I believe that this Center is necessary in order to help many parents receive their education so they can be able to help their children to have a bright future.

The CLC at Hunter College not only provides my child with a safe, loving, elevating education, it also gives my family peace of mind and stability so I can go forward with my education and my husband can continue to support our family. The CLC raises the standard of day care and early childhood education for NYC.

The Children’s Learning Center at Hunter is by far the most amazing learning institution my daughter has ever been to. The Center offers flexible hours and the best teachers. Without the Center I wouldn’t be able to obtain a college degree. Please don’t cut funding to these institutions that help so many get ahead.

The Center is my daughter Sophia’s favorite place. We love the teachers and really feel like home. The learning environment is excellent and is providing Sophia with the skills and experiences that will make the transition to kindergarten smooth. I am a mother with no other support system. I am alone with no extended family. The Center has become my extended family. They are there for me always and accommodating to my class and fieldwork schedule. Without their support I would not be able to meet the rigorous demands of a master's program. Higher education would not be an option for me if it was not for the Center.

The Children’s Learning Center at Hunter College, CUNY is one of the greatest services that the college offers to our students. I was a PhD student when my son was in his toddler age. I would say that without the Learning Center service. I may not have finished my PhD and could not have found a college teaching position later. In a word, the Learning Center is definitely a MUST HAVE for all student-moms.

The Children’s Learning Center means everything to us. It allowed my husband to make a career change that has improved the lives of everyone in our family. He went from a twenty year career in the print industry to a physical therapist with a doctoral degree. And perhaps more importantly the CLC was a nurturing, stimulating, and caring place for our daughters. We could never have hoped for more. The teachers are the best we have ever encountered and the program is better than any private school could offer. We have complete admiration and gratitude for the CLC.

As a single mother, it might not have been possible or extremely challenging to complete my undergraduate degree, if it was not for the convenience, quality and affordability of the child care offered by Hunter College through the Children’s Learning Center. It was the catalyst that changed both of our lives.
