1. How do I find out my enrollment date/time?

Log into your CUNYfirst account, select HR/Campus Solutions from the first menu after login, then look under Self Service --> Enrollment -->Enrollment Dates. Important: Note both your enrollment date AND time.
You can also see your Enrollment dates by selecting HR/Campus Solutions from the first menu after login, then going to Self Service --> Student Center and you will see your enrollment date listed on the right side under “Enrollment Dates.” To see your enrollment time, you must click on “Details.”
Open Enrollment Dates are not used by Hunter but this feature cannot be disabled for Hunter, therefore “Begin Date” is listed after “Last Date to Enroll.”

NOTE: If you did not take classes during the current semester, you will need to get readmitted in order to be able to register for next semester’s classes. For information on how to get readmitted, visit www.hunter.cuny.edu/ugprospects/getting-in/Applying/Readmit.

2. Where do I see my current class schedule?

To see your current class schedule, select HR/Campus Solutions from the first menu after login, then look under "Self Service --> Student Center" NOT "Self Service ---> Enrollment."

3. Where do I see the Searchable Schedule of Classes?

To view Searchable Schedule of Classes, log into your CUNYfirst account, select HR/Campus Solutions from the first menu after login, then click on Self Service ---> Student Center ---> Search for Classes (green button on the top right of the page.)

4. I’ve placed my classes in the shopping cart. Does that mean I’ve registered for those classes?

No, putting classes in your shopping cart does NOT mean you have enrolled in those classes. You MUST click the “Finish Enrolling” button, which will only appear on your assigned enrollment date and time.

5. Where can I see my unofficial transcript?

To view your unofficial transcript, log into your CUNYfirst account, select HR/Campus Solutions from the first menu after login, then click on Self Service ---> Academic Records ---> View Unofficial Transcript.

6. I see a Negative Service Indicator (a small red crossed out circle) when I log into my CUNYfirst account. What does that mean?

If you see a Negative Service Indicator mark (a small red crossed out circle) in your CUNYfirst account that means that you have a hold/stop on your account.  Click on the red circle to determine the academic or administrative office that issued the stop/hold on your record. Reconcile the stop/hold by calling or visiting the issuing office.

If you see Negative Service Indicators on your record from other CUNY colleges, you will NOT be prohibited by the system from registering for classes at Hunter College.

7. A course on my transcript should be a GER (or other core requirement) course, but is now listed as an elective. Will this be adjusted?

It is listed as it was in SIMS. If a student believes that is not correct, he/she should go to the OASIS. A representative will check the student's SIMS record. If by any chance there is a conversion issue, we will adjust the record accordingly. This holds true for any records-related issue students may have. Some are legitimate, such as how GPAs are calculated, but others are not, so they need to be fixed.

8. I forgot to write down my Empl ID; how do I retrieve it in CUNYfirst?

To see your Empl ID, select HR/Campus Solutions from the first menu after login, then look under Self Service --> Student Center and your Empl ID will be displayed on the top section.

9. Does CUNYfirst change how I file for an ePermit to attend another CUNY college?

No. You still need to log into your CUNY Portal account (www.cuny.edu) for information on CUNY ePermit procedures.

10. Does CUNYfirst change how I access DIG?

No. You will still access DIG through your CUNY Portal account (www.cuny.edu). To access DIG, follow instructions on this page: www.hunter.cuny.edu/studentservices/advising/dig.

11. I’m graduating this semester, do I use CUNYfirst to apply for graduation?

No. To apply for graduation, you need to fill out the appropriate Degree Audit Application Form (DAAF) and submit it to OASIS (Room 217 North).

12. I see another school's banner/branding when I log into my CUNYfirst account. How do I fix that?

Some CUNY students have reported that when they log into their CUNYfirst accounts, they see branding (banner etc) other than the school that they're attending. If that's the case, they need to contact their primary CUNY school's help desk.

Possible solution
(seems to work for some students): Log into your CUNYfirst account and try to change you home address (even if you change it to what's already listed there). When done, log out and log back in and the branding issue may be fixed.

If that does not resolve the issue and Hunter is your primary CUNY school
, please email your Empl ID (CUNYfirst ID), full name, email address and which schools banner you're seeing to Hunter's Help Desk (studenthelpdesk@hunter.cuny.edu) and they will let you know when the problem is resolved.

13. Social Security Number is needed to claim a CUNYfirst account. I don't have one. How do I claim my account?

To claim your account, you will need to enter your First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have a Social Security number, please use the last 4 digits of your 9-digit Hunter-assigned ID. If you don't remember your 9-digit ID number, go to OASIS (Room 217 North) with a valid government-issued photo ID, and someone will be able to look it up for you; if you are a student at the Silberman School of Social Work, please go to the Enrollment Management Office (7th floor) and speak to Mrs. Purnomo.

14. How does the Hunter College Enrollment Waitlist work?

For in-depth information on the waitlist feature on CUNYfirst, please click here.

15. How do I register for hybrid or online courses?

Courses at Hunter College are taught in several different ways, from the traditional classroom environment, to courses that are conducted entirely online. Additionally, there are several options that combine online and classroom learning to varying degrees. A course's mode of instruction (http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/onestop/registration/course-modes-of-instruction-coding) describes its type of classroom environment. Students can find a course's mode of instruction in the searchable schedule of classes by looking under "class details." View the registration guides for more information on how to search for courses based on their mode of instruction.
