Philip R. Hamann

Doctoral Lecturer

Doctoral Lecturer Philip R. Hamann in the Department of Chemistry teaches courses in organic chemistry. His research focus is chemical education and organic chemistry.

Profile

Dr. Hamann taught chemistry, as well as physics and earth science, in the NYC public high schools for three years, most recently at the Bronx High School of Science. He has taught organic chemistry and general chemistry as an adjunct at John Jay College and as a visiting professor at Vassar College. He continues to enjoy sharing his love of organic chemistry at Hunter College.

Research

Previously did research in the use of antibodies to deliver the cytotoxic drug calicheamicin to cancer cells that ultimately resulted in the approved drugs Mylotarg for AML and Besponsa for ALL.
