A research professor and theoretical physicist at California Institute of Technology, Dr. Carroll’s work focuses on cosmology, field theory, gravitation and quantum mechanics, and explores dark matter and energy, modified gravity, topological defects, extra dimensions, and more. He has authored several books including The Particle at the End of the Universe, From Eternity to Here: The Quest for the Ultimate Theory of Time and The Big Picture: On the Origins of Life, Meaning, and the Universe Itself. Dr. Carroll has been awarded prizes and fellowships by the National Science Foundation, NASA, the Sloan Foundation, and the Royal Society of London. He regularly appears on the History Channel, in TV shows, such as The Colbert Report and PBS’s NOVA, and frequently serves as a science consultant for film and television.

Best-Selling Authors’ and Great Thinkers’ lectures are followed by a reception and book-signing. The public is invited. There is no charge. RSVP are required: call 212-772-4295 or email twcce@hunter.cuny.edu and include your phone number and email address.
