Kevin Jennings, Non-Profit Leader
Join us on Tuesday, November 15 at 2:30 pm for a special event featuring Kevin Jennings, former presidential advisor and Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools at the U.S. Department of Education.
Jennings is a longtime leader in the fight for LGBTQ equality, and the CEO of Lambda Legal, the nation’s oldest legal advocacy group for LGBTQ people and those living with HIV. Jennings mainstreamed the nation’s first gay-straight education alliance, GLSEN. He has authored seven books, including Becoming Visible: A Reader in Gay & Lesbian History for High School and College Students, and produced the documentary Welcome to Chechnya. Jennings grew up in poverty in rural North Carolina and became a high school history teacher after graduating from Harvard.
This is a unique opportunity to hear from someone who has surmounted great odds to help change the world for the better, and we hope you will join us for this special event.
