Honors Programs

Exceptional students who qualify for these rigorous and rewarding programs are provided with a host of academic resources, including concentrated faculty attention and guidance, in order to pursue focused in-depth study in their particular fields of interest.

The Macaulay Honors College

Provides outstanding educational opportunities and support through advising, cross-campus seminars and more that draw on the best of CUNY and NYC.
The Thomas Hunter Honors Program (THHP)

Offers extensive support in interdisciplinary study within a student's major, or in one they create, through highly attentive faculty advising.
Departmental Honors

Allows qualified students to pursue honors within their major department through an in-depth research project or essay related to the discipline.

Scholars Programs

These prestigious programs provide qualified students with financial support and mentoring and professional development opportunities designed to remove barriers, shape their careers and open up new avenues of engagement.

McNair Scholars Program

Provides underrepresented and/or first generation college students with research, scholarly activities and preparation for doctoral study.
McNulty Scholars Program

Prepares outstanding and ambitious undergraduate women majoring in STEM for leadership roles in science and math.
Mellon Foundation Grants

Supports a new and diverse generation of leaders in the arts, humanities and social sciences through internships, research, mentoring and more.

Freshmen Honors Scholar Programs

Qualified students receive tailored academic experiences, including small seminar classes and dedicated faculty advisors, while being encouraged to work towards honors in their major, pursue postgraduate education and take advantage of study abroad, internships, research opportunities and more.

Athena: Humanities, Philosophy, and Literature

Offers in-depth study of large philosophical questions supported by top faculty, programs and resources within the humanities.
Daedalus: Computer Science

Muse: Visual and Performing Arts, Media and Creative Writing
