The Ethics Commission Reform Act of 2022 (ECRA) requires that all New York State officers and employees receive a live or online ethics training every year. The Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG) is responsible for developing and administering this important training mandate.
Executive Law § 94 (8) details the requirements of the ethics training mandate:
- New hires must complete live training within 90 days of employment;
- Live training must be completed every other year; and
- Ethics refresher training must be taken in between the years that live training is due.
The Office of Legal Affairs is currently offering training sessions on the following dates:
- Monday, December 9, 10 am – Noon. Registration is closed.
COELIG offers additional trainings throughout the year.
Register for live trainings offered by COELIG.
There are limits to the number of participants in the sessions offered by COELIG; registration for these sessions will be closed once limits have been reached.
