On 4/15/19, Hunter hosted this program.
Roosevelt House was pleased and honored to welcome back an important member of the House of Representatives: New York’s own Jerrold Nadler (D-NY-10), who visited Roosevelt House on Monday, April 15, to discuss his new leadership role as the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee.
Rep. Nadler focused on the Committee’s agenda for issues regarding the Constitution and civil rights and liberties. He assumed the role of Chair after the Democrats took control of the House of Representatives in January 2019; prior to that, he was Ranking Member.
Congressman Nadler has also served for 13 years as Chairman or Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties and also served as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet. He also regularly advocates for voting rights and against racial discrimination and is Vice-Chair and founding member of the House Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Equality Caucus, through which he has co-sponsored every landmark piece of LGBT civil rights legislation for more than two decades.
Welcoming remarks by Roosevelt House Director Harold Holzer.
