Information Alert January 2025

CHANGES TO NIH BIOSKETCH, OTHER SUPPORT FORM SUBMISSION SCHEDULED FOR MAY 2025

NIH is adopting the Biographical Sketch Common Form and the Current and Pending (Other) Support Common Form in 2025 for applications and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs).

These forms will be effective for application due dates and report submission dates on or after May 25, 2025 rather than the NIH-specific format pages currently in use.

You will be required to use SciENcv to complete Common Forms (i.e., Biographical Sketch, Current and Pending (Other) Support) and the NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement to produce digitally certified PDF(s) for use in application submission.

You will also be required to have an ORCID ID

  • ORCID is a free, unique, persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities.
  • All senior/key personnel listed on an application for a due date on or after May 25, 2025, must have an ORCID ID and the ID must be linked to their eRA Commons Personal Profile.
    • See ORCID ID topic in the eRA Commons online help.
  • You will be required to enter your ORCID ID in the Persistent Identifier (PI) section of the Common Forms.

Where can I find the Common Forms for Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support?

  • Applicants and recipients can find the approved Common Forms (OMB Number 3145-0279 managed by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF)), at NSF’s website at NSTC Research Security Subcommittee NSPM-33 Implementation Guidance Disclosure Requirements & Standardization.
