Big Data & Data Analytics Incorporated in Accp 476 & Eco 79584 – Fall 2019

The topics of Big Data and Data Analytics will be incorporated into ACCP 47600 and ECO 79584, taught by Professor Michelle Liu and Professor Christine Tan, respectively, in the Fall of 2019. In ACCP 47600, for undergraduates, Professor Liu will cover practicing Excel Skills through SIMNet modules and working with Stata to download, clean, analyze, and output financial information. In ECO 79584, for graduate students, Professor Tan will cover data visualization, financial statement analytics using XBRL data, and using Python and R for data analyses (calling an API, such as Yahoo Finance API, and plotting charts, generating summary statistics, and working with time series data).
