Students applying for financial aid at Hunter will have a more pleasant and convenient experience after a thorough rehab of the Financial Aid Office in Room — 241 of the North Building.
The office now sports a bright and airy reception area where students can tap their ID to register for their visits – no forms needed. Students can have their questions answered at the counter by a staff member or wait to meet with a financial-aid adviser for a one-on-one session: The reorganized space is equipped with individualized counseling spaces for comfort and privacy.
“This is a big step forward in re-imagining the student experience,” said Joseph Fantozzi, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment. “Our goal is to make our students as comfortable as possible while discussing their aid opportunities.”
The office’s 28 employees, meanwhile, got more comfortable workspaces with a better layout, lighting, and air flow, as well as a new kitchen, encouraging collaboration.
This year, the office will sponsor a student contest seeking artwork for display artwork on the walls near the office’s entrance.
