Might you become a marketer?
Hunter College has established a partnership with the Association of National Advertisers with the goal of providing resources for students who may want to explore such careers.
The college’s Cooperman Business Center will be holding a marketing bootcamp January 23, 2025, to introduce students to the profession; ANA, a trade association, will lead an interactive workshop there and will provide membership benefits to Hunter faculty and staff. ANA has provided all interested students access to a reputable marketing certification that students can add to their resumes.
Hunter’s year-long partnership with ANA is being sponsored by Eos, maker of body lotion, lip balm, and shave-care products. Headquartered in Midtown, Eos plans to engage with Hunter students through mentorships, office-site visits, and campus speaking engagements — the first one being the marketing bootcamp.
Adjunct Professor of Marketing Brooke Xavier, director of the bootcamp, said that last year, students from 10 different majors attended the marketing bootcamp even though Hunter doesn’t have a marketing major.
“A foundational understanding of marketing helps our students gain employment in any field and especially marketing and communications,” Xavier said. “As a liberal arts college, many of our students have a well-rounded skillset making them a perfect fit for a marketing career. The bootcamp, along with the invaluable resources provided by ANA and the ANA Educational Foundation, will complement their academic studies to help prepare our students to compete for marketing roles.”
Hunter’s faculty and staff may take advantage of ANA materials, including case studies, marketing-plan and creative-brief templates, exclusive research, access to ANA conferences, industry-led committees, webinars, and professional-development programs with the goal to cascade the benefits to our students.
