A reading from American Eden by author Victoria Johnson, Associate Professor of Urban Policy and Planning at Hunter College, in conversation with Gregory Mosher, Chair of the Hunter College Theatre Department

Pulitzer Prize finalist Victoria Johnson speaks with Gregory Mosher about her recent book American Eden. Victoria tells the story of the doctor who not only attended at the infamous Hamilton-Burr duel but also helped launch science, medicine, and the arts in New York. American Eden was a New York Times Notable Book of 2018 and a finalist for the 2018 National Book Award in Nonfiction, the 2018 Los Angeles Times Book Prize in Biography, and the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in History.
