The Larry A. and Klara Silverstein Chair in Jewish Studies and Director of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at Hunter College, Professor Leah Garrett, was interviewed by BBC Radio about her latest book, X Troop: The Secret Jewish Commandos of World War II.
The program, “History’s Secret Heroes: True Stories of Deception, Acts of Resistance, and Courage from World War II,” narrated by Helena Bonham Carter, focused on the story of Manfred Gans, part of an elite secret unit of commandos that took on the Nazis with advanced fighting and counterintelligence skills, playing a crucial role in the success of D Day.
