Hunter College embraces the global diversity of our staff and faculty and recognizes the impact that recent events and actions surrounding immigration and citizenship have had on our community, whether or not we are immigrants ourselves. The Office of Human Resources wants to ensure that faculty and staff remain apprised of resources available to them on and off campus to those navigating these challenges.
Employees of Hunter College remain eligible to utilize the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Corporate Counseling Associates (CCA). The EAP can help with counseling and mental health and offer legal assistance to CUNY employees and their families.
In addition, CUNY Citizenship Now! offers free and confidential legal services to CUNY employees, students, and their families, as well as provides updates on laws, executive orders and actions that impact noncitizens. Employees can contact Citizenship Now! at (646) 664–9400, text them at (929) 334–3784, or email your questions to citizenshipnowinfo@cuny.edu.
For members of the PSC-CUNY union, there are resources updated online via the Immigrant Solidarity Working Group. In addition, the CUNY Office of Undocumented and Immigrant Student Programs also has resources for educators and staff at CUNY.
Finally, while Hunter College does not provide personal legal advice or representation, the Office of Human Resources recognizes that, from time-to-time, members of the Hunter community need personal legal advice or representation. Below are links to external legal resources:
