Prof. Devra Golbe, Chair of the Economics Department, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Advisory Board for the New York City Independent Budget Office. The IBO provides non-partisan information about New York City’s budget and economy to the public and elected officials. It reviews the city’s annual budget, produces an annual forecast of fiscal spending and revenues, and provides policy briefs on important issues facing the city, such as school spending and the local tax burden on residents.
