On May 16, 2025 we held an Interdisciplinary end-of-year conference that addressed the topic: How does power inscribe itself on lives and landscapes? Can writing be an act of defiance?
This conference brought together critical discussions from two Spring 2025 Thomas Hunter Honors Colloquia: “Life, Death, & Power: Exploring Biopolitics and Necropolitics” and “Commitments & Convictions: Writing from Institutions.”
Presentations showcased students discussing their research and creative projects examining the intersections of writing, narrative, power, control, and institutional structures.
The afternoon event culminated in a reception at which we presented awards for best-written student papers in THHP colloquia during the 2024-2025 academic year and celebrated our graduating THHP students.
