The Museum has played an integral role in the development of modern and contemporary art, showing early exhibitions by artists like Helen Frankenthaler, Ad Reinhardt, and Robert Rauschenberg, as well as landmark group exhibitions like Primary Structures. It also includes the National Jewish Archive of Broadcasting, the largest body of broadcast materials on 20th-century Jewish culture in the US.
The Jewish Museum offers talks, performances, and classes, as well as the yearly New York Jewish Film Festival in partnership with The Film Society of Lincoln Center.
