PROFILE
Aaron Welt is a historian of American Jewish history, with a focus on the themes of immigration, labor, and politics. His first book, Strong Armed: Racketeering and American Jewish History, 1890 – 1932 (NYU Press) is slated for publication in late 2025. At Hunter, Dr. Welt teaches courses on American Jewish History, Modern Jewish History, Modern US History, and the History of New York City. Dr. Welt also directs the Hunter College’s Cooper Fellowship on Combating Antisemitism.
