Dr. Cordelia Reimers is a professor emerita in the Department of Economics at Hunter College. She teaches courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Labor Economics, Women & Men in the Labor Market, and Macroeconomic Theory.
Prior to teaching at Hunter, Dr. Reimers served as a visiting professor of economics as well as the acting director of graduate studies at the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education at Charles University, Prague. She was also an assistant professor of economics and public affairs at Princeton University.
Dr. Reimers has been a senior economist at the Council of Economic Advisers, a visiting scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences’ panel on Hispanics in the United States.
Her main areas of interest include retirement behavior, the differences in labor market outcomes by race, ethnicity, nativity, gender and age, and the impact of the Great Recession on state government finances. Her research has been published in leading publications, including the Journal of Human Resources, Review of Economics and Statistics and Journal of the American Statistical Association.
Dr. Reimers holds a PhD in economics from Columbia University.
