Devra L. Golbe is a professor emerita in the Department of Economics.

Profile

Dr. Devra Golbe teaches Intermediate Microeconomics, Corporate Finance and Personal Finance in the Department of Economics at Hunter College. Since joining the department in 1987, Dr. Golbe has held several positions including chair, associate chair, acting chair, deputy chair and associate professor.

Dr. Golbe's research focuses on finance and industrial organization. Her current research projects focus on corporate control, such as ownership structure and payout policy, informed trading and mergers as well as acquisitions.

In the past, Dr. Golbe taught as a teaching fellow at NYU's College of Business and Public Administration and was an associate professor of economics at Rutgers University. She served as an elected member of the Metuchen NJ Board of Education for nearly ten years and is currently an active member of the NYC Independent Budget Office Advisory Board.

Dr. Golbe earned her BA in mathematical economics from Brown University and obtained her MBA and PhD in economics and finance from NYU's Stern School of Business.
