Dr. Fatma Cebenoyan is an associate professor of economics and accounting in the Department of Economics at Hunter College and serves as the director of the accounting program. She teaches courses in Advanced Accounting I, Principles of Accounting I and Advanced Financial Accounting. Dr. Cebenoyan's professional interests include financial accounting, value-relevance of financial and non-financial information and corporate governance.
Prior to joining the Hunter College faculty, Dr. Cebenoyan taught introductory level accounting and tax courses at her alma mater, the University of Maryland, College Park, where she received her PhD. She was also a visiting faculty member at CUNY's Baruch College.
Her research on financial accounting, value-relevance of financial information, determinants of mergers and acquisitions in financial institutions and the impact of CEO personal characteristics on risky taking has been published in the Review of Accounting and Finance.
