Profile
Ming-Ying Li is a doctoral lecturer of Chinese in the Department of Classical and Oriental Studies. She also serves as assistant director of Chinese Flagship Overseas Capstone Program in Taiwan.
She holds a Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Language, Culture and Society from Pennsylvania State University. Before coming to Hunter College, Ming-Ying Li taught Chinese language courses at Pennsylvania State University and University of Colorado Boulder.
Dr. Li's main areas of interest are language teaching, curriculum design, and program development. Ming-Ying Li's primary research area is teaching and learning Chinese as a heritage language with a focus on literacy development. Of her work, she is most proud of helping students learn foreign languages to change themselves and the world.
