Monika Zaleska is a writer, translator, and PhD candidate at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation is on Marcel Proust’s influence on the Polish artist and writer Józef Czapski. She has an MFA in fiction from Brooklyn College, where she served as an editor of The Brooklyn Review and taught courses in English and comparative literature, as well as creative writing.
She was a 2013-2014 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant to Poland after graduating from Swarthmore College.
Monika currently teaches courses in Polish literature at Hunter, such as Polish Literature Post-Solidarity and Modern Polish Prose.
