student showcasing research abstract poster at Hunter
Come Present Your Research!

Hunter College is pleased to announce our Undergraduate Research Conference. The conference provides a forum for Hunter undergraduates to present their research and creative activities to the college as a whole. Students from all disciplines—from the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics—are welcome to submit proposals. The conference will include scholarly feedback for participants, raffles for prizes, and a panel on pursuing research opportunities.

If you would like to participate, please submit your abstract by February 14th.

  • Please use the STEM abstract submission form if you are in a STEM field.
  • Please use the Non-STEM abstract submission form if you are in a Non-STEM field (Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences).

If you need clarification about what goes into an abstract, please look at the material pasted below. If you need more concrete assistance, please reach out directly to the Rockowitz Writing Center (ykenigsb@hunter.cuny.edu) or the Skirball Science Learning Center (npadilla@hunter.cuny.edu).

For participating undergraduates, please review the following proposal guidelines:

Abstract Guidelines

  • A Hunter undergraduate student must be an author on the abstract and poster. (Abstracts may have multiple authors.)
  • Participation is encouraged from students in all disciplines from across campus.
  • Abstracts should be 250 words or less. You are encouraged to work with your faculty supervisor to develop your abstract and poster. Faculty will be required to confirm their support as part of your submission.
  • Poster preparation guidelines and printing instructions will be emailed to students with accepted abstracts.
  • In addition, the Skirball Science Learning Center and Rockowitz Writing Center (on the 7th Floor of the Library) will be hosting workshops to support your efforts in writing an abstract, creating your poster, and preparing your presentation.
