Rudy Guevarra

Join CENTRO for a Cafecito Con…Professor Rudy Guevarra, author of Aloha Compadre -Latinxs in Hawai'i, the first book to examine the collective history and contemporary experiences of the Latinx population of Hawai'i. Since the early 1830s, the Latinx community continues to help shape Hawai'i’s history, yet their contributions are often overlooked. Latinxs have been a part of the cultural landscape of Hawai'i prior to annexation, territorial status, and statehood in 1959. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the many Latinx diasporas in Hawai'i!
