Roosevelt House presents the second annual David Dubinsky Labor Lecture at Roosevelt House, named in memory of the legendary American labor leader (1892-1982) who served for decades as president of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU)—and was a major political force from the New Deal era to the New Frontier. Please join us as we welcome Steven Greenhouse, an award-winning journalist who served as labor and workplace correspondent for the New York Times. He will be discussing his new book, Beaten Down, Worked Up: The Past, and Future of American Labor, an in-depth look at working men and women in America, the challenges they face, and how they can be re-empowered. Joining him in conversation will be Lydia DePillis, a reporter in ProPublica’s Washington, D.C., newsroom. She covers trade and the economy in the lead-up to the 2020 election.
