Workplace Rights and Social Justice Discussion Group
Starts Wednesday, February 3
This spring, students and alumni are invited to join our weekly discussion group on workplace rights and social justice.
Last semester our topics included race discrimination in employment, farmworker rights, the rights of people with disabilities, collective bargaining, labor organizing, labor history and climate change. Meetings have included guest speakers with specialized knowledge and experience. The variety and depth of the discussions help us broaden our exposure to practical policy and historical issues, gain greater insight into workplace issues, and create sense of community.
Participants will propose topics and review light reading materials to gain a general understanding of the upcoming topic. Our facilitator, William A. Herbert, works to make the discussions educationally valuable without the pressures of a credited course.
