Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Hunter College’s Office of Instructional Computing and Information Technology (ICIT), in coordination with CUNY central offices, continues to enhance cybersecurity across all campus systems, including CUNYfirst, where sensitive information is stored.
As part of these efforts, CUNY is now requiring CUNYfirst users to change their passwords on a regular basis. This policy will apply to all members of the Hunter College community, including students, faculty, and staff. Regular password updates are being implemented as an additional safeguard to help protect sensitive information and ensure the continued security of CUNYfirst and other critical systems.
While regular password updates will be required, it is imperative that all members of the Hunter College community change their CUNYfirst password immediately.
This initiative complements other key strategies — such as using strong, unique passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication — to promote a safer digital environment for all users.
