Welcome to April-- Spring Break is almost here! Although this should be a time for you to rest and prepare to finish this semester strong, we invite you to check out the events and resources below to make the most of your break. As always, feel free to visit our office in HN 757 or email us at humbio@hunter.cuny.edu for support and advising!

April Highlights

Human Biology News

  • Internships, Research, and PostBac Opportunities Resource!
    • We have created an online resource for all Human Biology majors to use when trying to find research, internship, and postbac opportunities! This list will be regularly updated with new opportunities related to Human Biology or recently completed by Human Biology majors. Check it out here!
  • Stop by for advising!
    • We will still be holding advising hours as usual during Spring Break. Feel free to schedule a virtual or in person appointment via Navigate, or attend walk-in advising! Walk-in advising is held in HN 713 every Tuesday from 9AM-12PM and 1PM-3:30PM, and every Wednesday from 9AM-12PM.
  • Careers in STEM Seminar: Kelly Matthews (4/24, virtually, at 4PM)
    • For our third Careers in STEM Seminar this Spring, we will be joined by Kelly Matthews (lead advisor at Indiana University School of Medicine) and several of her current medical school students! They will be telling us about life in medical school and what habits you can start now to succeed in medical school!

Important Dates

  • 4/5-4/13: Spring Recess
  • 4/17: Pass/No Credit (P/NC) grade request period opens (Speak with a general advisor AND a Human Biology advisor before opting in!)
  • 4/26: Fall 2023 registration shopping cart opens in Schedule Builder and CUNYfirst

Major Advising

  • In person and virtual advising are available in Spring 2023; appointments with Dr. Milena Shattuck or Ms. Michelle Coleman can be booked through Hunter Navigate.
  • Walk-in advising with Ms. Michelle Coleman is held in HN 713 every Tuesday from 9AM-12PM and 1PM-3:30PM, and every Wednesday from 9AM-12PM. No appointment needed!

General Advising

  • Please use Hunter Navigate to make an appointment with your general advisor.
  • Virtual and in-person appointments are available in Spring 2023; walk-in advising with peer mentors is available.
  • Unable to make an appointment with your advisor? Send them an email! Please allow at least five business days for a response.
  • All general inquiries can be sent to advising@hunter.cuny.edu.
