Hunter College President Jennifer Raab has again been recognized in City & State New York’s “Women Power 100.” The 2019 “Women Power 100” list features statewide and local elected officials and trailblazers in the New York finance, business, law, nonprofit and health care fields.
“It is a true honor to be recognized by City & State alongside so many influential New York women who are working to make a difference in their communities and industries,” said Jennifer Raab. “I am gratified that City & State continues to recognize the importance of educational leaders and the impact they have in New York by including us in this list.”
City & State notes, “Jennifer Raab, who was appointed as president of CUNY’s Hunter College in 2001, has worked to raise the profile of Hunter College and is credited with transforming it from an open admission college to a highly selective institution that draws top candidates, a transformation that has brought in unprecedented funding, attracted prestigious faculty and boosted its arts curriculum.”
As the 13th President of Hunter College, Jennifer Raab has been responsible for raising more than $400 million in philanthropic support for the college. Major accomplishments include the renovation and reopening of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt House, which is now the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College, and the construction of a $131 million home in East Harlem for Hunter’s renowned School of Social Work.
