About the OOA
The Office of the Arts connects Hunter College students with transformational arts experiences, both on and off campus, and helps student artists build fulfilling, sustainable careers in the arts.

Our Programs

Named in honor of artist, arts benefactor, and alumna Judy Francis Zankel ’67, the Zankel Arts Hub (Thomas Hunter Hall Room 409) is a space available for studying, relaxing, and meeting other students interested in the arts. It is also the primary meeting space for students in the Muse Scholar and Arts Management & Leadership Certificate programs.

Jenny Rroji brings over 15 years of experience as a performer and arts administrator with a career spanning higher education and the nonprofit sector. A professional pianist with a classical music background, she holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and the National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, France.

Chad Kaydo is a playwright who has developed work with the Brick Theater and Clubbed Thumb. He produces and hosts Quick + Dirty, a development series for short works by new collaborators. He is a product of public schools and the son of two public school teachers. Chad is a former magazine editor and copywriter with an MFA in playwriting from Hunter College.

Jack Perry is a recent graduate of Hunter’s MFA program in studio art. His work touches on sculpture, collage, and writing. In addition to his studio practice, Jack has over ten years of professional experience as a graphic designer and illustrator.

Katrina Carlyle is a theater major and media minor at Hunter College. She is driven by her passion for acting but loves all things art and community centered. Katrina also co-hosts the radio show “Just Gibberish” on Hunter College’s station, WHCS.

Dara Meyers-Kingsley is the Founding Director of the Office of the Arts which was established in 2016. She currently serves as the liaison for the college’s partnerships with arts and cultural institutions throughout NYC. She is also the Director of the Muse Scholar Program, an honors program for high achieving students with talents in the arts. She previously served as the Director of the Mellon Arts Fellowship Program and the Arts Across the Curriculum initiative at Hunter.
