Manoj Pardasani, PhD, LCSW, ACSW is the Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Hunter College. He has oversight of all academic units, including Hunter’s School of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, School of Nursing, School of Health Professions and School of Social Work, as well as all academic programs, centers, and research efforts, Dr. Pardasani shapes academic policies and activities college-wide and ensures the college meets its educational mission and goals.

ABOUT THE OFFICE

The Office of the Provost at Hunter College sits at the heart of the college's academic affairs, overseeing a wide range of initiatives that shape the student experience. Here's a breakdown of their key areas of responsibility:

Academic Leadership and Policy:

  • Working with the President and Deans: The Provost collaborates with the College President and Deans of individual schools to set the direction for academic programs, policies, and overall academic quality.

Curriculum and Instruction:

  • Overseeing Academic Programs: The office ensures smooth operation of all academic programs offered by Hunter College, including undergraduate programs, graduate programs, and specialized offerings like the SEEK Program (Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge).
  • Curriculum Development: They play a role in guiding the development and implementation of new courses and programs, ensuring they align with the college's mission and meet student needs.

Research and Scholarship:

  • Supporting Faculty Research: The Provost's office works to foster a strong research environment by providing resources and support to faculty members in their scholarly pursuits. This might involve facilitating grant applications or securing funding for research projects.

Student Success:

  • Academic Support Services: The office works to ensure there are appropriate academic support services in place to help students succeed, potentially including areas like tutoring or academic advising.
  • Overseeing Programs: They oversee programs like the Roosevelt House academic programs focusing on Human Rights and Public Policy, which can play a significant role in student success and career preparation.
