Endorsement Required
The opportunities in this section require either an institutional nomination or endorsement. An “institutional nomination” requires that the sponsoring institution (Hunter College) nominate a limited number of candidates for consideration. For this reason, the Office of Prestigious Scholarships & Fellowships (OPS&F) may hold preliminary interviews for the purpose of selecting nominees to put forward. An “endorsement” asks the sponsoring institution (Hunter College) to supply a letter indicating its support for any applicants from its institution. This process might also involve a round of interviews at Hunter to approve students’ applications. If after considering your application materials and interviewing all candidates the internal selection committee believes you are not ready to apply for a particular scholarship, we will not offer a letter of endorsement. Because OPS&F assists in the preparation of student applications for both nomination and endorsement, we have established campus deadlines that applicants must meet in order to receive the College’s support. These deadlines are labeled “Student Deadline” on the table of annual fellowship deadlines on this site.
