Africana, Puerto Rican and Latino Studies is an interdisciplinary department devoted to the exploration of the history and culture of African people in the Americas, the Caribbean and Africa, as well as Puerto Ricans and the broader Latino experience.
With courses in the humanities and social sciences, the multidisciplinary curriculum and the multiplicity of heritages make the structure of the Africana, Puerto Rican and Latino Studies department unique and its curricular offerings challenging.
The faculty and staff of Africana, Puerto Rican and Latino Studies have a long history of nurturing students' intellectual discipline, creativity, and social and political awareness.
