Whether you are taking courses, travelling, or completing an internship, we hope that you are having a great summer! As a reminder, Human Biology advising is available all summer long! Additionally, Hunter is still holding events, tutoring, and all offices are open Monday-Thursday each week. We hope to see you on campus! July Highlights

💼 Human Biology Program News 🧬

  • Still looking for Fall courses?
    • SOC 3252R (Social Medicine) and SOC 3252S (Displacement, War, and Health) are NEW Human Biology major course options for Tracks 1 & 3 for Fall 2025 (pending Senate approval)! We highly recommend students consider taking one or both of these courses; these topics are crucial for students seeking to pursue a career in healthcare.
  • Earn up to 3 credits for a Fall internship! (Deadline: August 1)
    • Want to earn up to 3 elective credits for an internship? Earning 3 credits for an internship is required in order to graduate with HONORS in Human Biology (in addition to GPA requirements)! 
    • NOW is the time to apply for fall internships! If you are accepted to a fall internship, please submit a credit request form on our website HERE by August 1.
    • The Career Center is here to help you find and apply for internships! Feel free to make an appointment with them via Navigate.
  • Apply to be a Human Biology Peer Mentor via work study!
    • Are you receiving work study through Financial Aid? You may be eligible to apply to be a Human Biology Peer Mentor! We are seeking several enthusiastic students to support their Human Biology peers throughout the 2025-2025 academic year.

  • Apply for the Human Biology CIE Program (CUNY Inclusive Economy Program)!
    • Want to explore careers in healthcare while gaining internship and job experience? Human Biology majors are invited to apply for the Human Biology CIE Program, which grants students extra advising NOW (from as early as freshman year!) until graduation as they explore career pathways and get one-on-one support finding and applying for internships and jobs! Apply here!

  • NOW is the time to start applying to FALL INTERNSHIPS!
    • We recommend applying to 2-5 internships per week to get your best chance of being called for an interview! We have created an online resource for all Human Biology majors to use when trying to find research, internship, and postbac opportunities! This list is regularly updated with new opportunities related to Human Biology or recently completed by Human Biology majors. Check it out here! You can also use the Handshake app, your own online searches, and the Career Center to find opportunities.
    • We have also created a tracker template to help you keep track of your internship applications! After opening the template HERE, please click "File" and "Make a Copy" to create your own copy on your Google Drive. Feel free to edit your own document however you'd like!
