Freshman Orientation

Select one of several available dates between June 6 – June 22, 2024.

Freshman Orientation is a mandatory one-day event for all entering freshman students that will take place at the Hunter College main 68th Street campus. For the Fall 2024 semester, choose from one of several available dates between June 6 – June 22, 2024.

What to Expect at Freshman Orientation
  • Pick-up your Hunter OneCard (student ID)
  • Review your first-semester schedule
  • Get a thorough tour of campus and main offices
  • Be introduced to campus resources
  • Meet your future classmates
Class Registration

Starting in mid-May 2024, you will be automatically enrolled in your class schedule for the Fall 2024 semester.

Transfer Orientation

Select one of two available dates: August 21 or August 22, 2024

Transfer Orientation is a one-day event that will take place at the Hunter College main 68th Street campus. For the Fall 2024 semester, choose from one of two available dates on Wednesday, August 21 or Thursday, August 22, 2024.

All transfers must be registered for classes prior to attending orientation as transfer orientation will not cover any advising or registration info.

Class Registration

Transfer students must register for classes prior to attending orientation. For help with registration, review the Transfer Advising and Registration Guide.

Parent Orientation

We are excited to offer a first ever Parent Orientation virtually. As the parent, guardian, or caregiver of a first-year college student, you can take pride in the efforts you've invested in preparing both your student and yourself for the upcoming transition to college.

Join us virtually to learn how you can support your student through a smooth transition info college life. Space is limited.

Getting to Orientation

Looking for the easiest way?

The best way to ensure an easy commute to the orientation is to take the NYC subway. There is a subway stop named after us that drops you off right at our front door! View Subway Directions

Driving from far away?

Hunter College does not offer any on-campus parking. There are several private parking garages and some pay-by-hour meters in the neighborhood. Learn more here
