Entry Details, Travel Info, and Accessibility Accommodations

Required Arrival Time: 1:30 pm*
Location: Dean Street Entrance (#3 on map above)

Entry Requirements

All graduates must bring their Hunter College Student ID and the official Hunter College Academic Regalia in order to enter Barclays Center. Students may bring their physical Hunter ID or mobile Hunter ID card. All graduates need to enter Barclays Center with their cap and gown.

* To participate in the Commencement Ceremony processional, students must arrive on time.

Arrival Time: 2 pm
Location: Main Atrium (#1 on above map)

Entry Requirements

A valid Commencement Ceremony Guest Ticket is required for entry for all guests. Seating is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the academic procession begins, guests will be asked to wait until all the graduates have been seated before proceeding into the venue. It is therefore advisable for guests to arrive one hour before the start of Commencement.

If you are a guest who requires accessibility accommodations ask guest services for assistance when you arrive.

Infants and/or toddlers who can remain on an adult’s lap will be allowed entry with an accompanying Guest Ticket-holding parent/guardian. All other children require a Guest Ticket for entry.

A ticket is not required but you must RSVP in order to gain entry through the VIP lounge and process.

In addition to registering to participate, a valid Hunter College ID is required for entry for all participating faculty.

Faculty Sign-up

Staff will be notified of their team leaders, assigned roles, reporting time and entry location via email.

Entry Requirements

Hunter College staff members interested in participating in the faculty processional must register to attend via the Staff Commencement Attendance Form. Additionally, a valid Hunter College ID is required for entry for all participating staff members.

Transportation and Parking

Barclays Center is adjacent to one of the largest transit hubs in New York. Get there via Subway or the Long Island Railroad. Learn more about public transportation and driving directions on the Barclays Center website or use the MTA Barclays Center page.

Accessibility Accommodations

Attendees who require an accessibility accommodation for themselves and/or for their attending guests should indicate their request for accommodation(s) when they RSVP to reserve tickets.

Accessibility accommodations will be provided for attendees who:
  • require sign language services
  • require specialized seating
  • require the use of a wheelchair
  • experience difficulty traversing stairs
  • experience difficulty with other physical obstructions

Additional accessibility accommodations will be provided upon request. Please contact the Office of AccessABILITY directly at 212-772-4857 at least one week prior to the Commencement Ceremony or notify Hunter College staff directly upon arrival.
