Ignasi Clemente Pesudo is an assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology.

Profile

Dr. Ignasi Clemente Pesudo is an assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology, teaching and overseeing graduate and undergraduate students interested in linguistic anthropology. His main areas of interest include childhood studies, chronic illness, communication and culture in the care of disabled, chronically and terminally ill children, psychosocial approaches to pain and suffering, applied work in healthcare communication and multimodality and corporeality.

Dr. Pesudo received a Fulbright award and fellowship that allowed him to pursue his PhD in the U.S. (Fulbright Bilateral U.S.-Spain Student Exchange Commission Award and the Spanish Department of Education-Fulbright Predoctoral Fellowship). He has published several books, including one based on his his PhD research, Uncertain Futures: Communication and Culture in Childhood Cancer Treatment and Discourses on the Edges of Life.

Dr. Pesudo obtained his PhD in anthropology from UCLA.
