French Club

About the Club

Welcome to the developing, student-led French Alliance of Hunter College, where our mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive community for students passionate about the French language and the diverse cultures of the Francophone world. We are a group of individuals brought together by our shared interest with the language, art, history, and people that constitute the French-speaking world. Our club is a platform for cultural exploration, linguistic growth, and building lifelong connections. Whether you’re a native speaker, a Francophile, or simply someone with a curiosity for the world, we invite you to join the French Alliance of Hunter College. Together, we’ll embark on a journey of discovery, celebrate the beauty of the French language, and embrace the cultures that enrich our lives. Come be a part of our growing Francophone family, and let’s embark on this exciting adventure together. Elections will be held in late Spring 2024.

Our Values

Cultural Exploration
We aim to immerse ourselves in the rich and diverse cultures of the Francophone world. From the cobblestone streets of Paris to the bustling markets of Marrakech, we seek to appreciate the nuances and vibrancy of Francophone societies. Through film screenings, culinary adventures, and cultural events, we hope to transport our members to the heart of these captivating worlds.

Language Enrichment
At the core of our club is a passion for the French language. We’re dedicated to providing a supportive environment for language learning and practice. Whether you’re just starting to learn French or you’re already fluent, our club offers opportunities to sharpen your language skills and engage in meaningful conversations.

Community Building
The Hunter College French Club is more than just a club; it’s a community. We foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where friendships are forged, ideas are exchanged, and dreams are nurtured. Together, we’ll celebrate French traditions, explore new horizons, and learn from each other.

Global Awareness
We believe that understanding different cultures is crucial in today’s interconnected world. By exploring the diverse Francophone cultures, we hope to broaden our global awareness, fostering a sense of openness and respect for all cultures.
