Undergraduate Academics

Home to over 15,000 undergraduate students and 37 academic departments and programs, the School of Arts and Sciences offers a wide variety of undergraduate degree programs and accelerated undergraduate/graduate dual-degree programs for specialized study while providing students with a strong foundation in the liberal arts. Both faculty and students have the opportunity to pursue rich and rigorous exploration of the creative and performing arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

We in the Dean of Arts and Sciences Office recruit, prepare, and nominate students for national prestigious scholarship opportunities on behalf of Hunter, and we offer pre-professional advising in business, health, and law.

McNair Scholars Program at Hunter

Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program) is a federally funded TRIO educational grant designed to provide select college students with research and scholarly activities and effective preparation for doctoral study. Students admitted to the program will engage in research, seminars, and other scholarly and educational activities approximately for two years until graduation. Services to students include academic research, mentoring, graduate application assistance, academic advising, college visits, conference presentations and non-credit workshops and exposure to cultural events. McNair Scholars receive a stipend of up to $2,800 linked to accomplishing specific academic milestones and assistance in securing admission and financial support for enrollment in doctoral programs.
