Advisor FAQs

First-time users need to complete one or more forms depending on the type of access requested and their employment status at Hunter.  Please see matrix below for required forms. Contact us at navigate@hunter.cuny.edu for assistance.

All users must first complete an online FERPA Tutorial and receive a completion certificate.

    When required, the POI form must be approved and processed before other forms can be accepted.

Yes, student notes in Navigate are part of a student’s educational record and therefore subject to FERPA.

Navigate is fed nightly with student data from CUNYFirst.  You will see a 1-day lag for most things, but please complete Navigate Support Request Form if you see the issue persist.

Please complete Navigate Support Request Form so we can collect all information needed to troubleshoot.  Alternatively, you may email navigate@hunter.cuny.edu.

All Navigate users are automatically added to a staff or faculty listserv upon new access.  The listservs are closed to current system users. Navigate users not receiving listserv emails can contact navigate@hunter.cuny.edu for assistance.  Non-users with general inquiries may also contact us at the same address.

Hunter is part of the EAB “Student Success Collaborative” which provides access to a large library of research and best practices for increasing student success.  You can find this information at eab.com. You may first need to create an account using your @hunter.cuny.edu email address. Contact navigate@hunter.cuny.edu if you have trouble setting up an account.
