Admissions and Interview Process

  • The application deadline is October 1st. We begin the application review process on October 2nd each year.
  • Every application is reviewed thoroughly.
  • Applicants missing important documentation, such as clinical experience hours or transcripts, will not be considered for interviews.
  • Eligible candidates will be invited for a Zoom interview with the PT faculty. Interviews take place across November and December of the application year.
  • Candidates are required to write a short, one page essay at the time of the interview.
  • All applicants invited for an interview will also be invited for an on-campus open house when they will get an opportunity to tour the PT department and will meet with faculty and current students for separate Q&A sessions.
  • All interviewed candidates will be evaluated based on all aspects of the application process.
  • The DPT program begins in June of each year.

Please note that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance to the program given limitations of space and resources. A class of 32 students is admitted each year. The Hunter College Physical Therapy Program is dedicated to equal opportunity for all applicants who meet admission requirements.
