Hunter Green is the dedicated platform for Hunter College to share its sustainability achievements, progress and ongoing initiatives towards reducing the college's carbon footprint, and embracing the call to promote a healthier, cleaner, just and sustainable environment for all of the Hunter community.

Our Mission

Hunter is bold and resolute in our commitment to set progressive targets, and to implement the innovative solutions necessary to continually improve upon our sustainability performance, facilitate more engagement and collaboration, and promote Hunter’s distinction as a green institution.

In our mission we will:

Strive to integrate the principles of sustainability in business decisions.
Consult with campus stakeholders to identify sustainability goals and promote their achievement.
Measure and report on campus sustainability initiatives.
Evaluate and redesign our operations to reduce their environmental impact.
Develop our educational and research agendas to meet the long-term goals of sustainability.
Promote awareness about the consumption of natural resources by individuals and groups.
Encourage environmentally sound practices among students, faculty and staff.
Seek strategic collaborations with other organizations to advance our sustainability goals.

Sustainability and Energy Specialist

Kelli Stephens is a sustainability and energy specialist in charge of developing and implementing Hunter's 10-Year Sustainability Action Plan.
