The Hunter College Sustainability Council (HCSC) was established in 2007 to guide and coordinate Hunter College's efforts to become "greener" and engage in more sustainable practices.
Comprised of a diverse group of students, faculty and staff, HCSC meets monthly and focuses primarily on eight key areas of concern:
- Energy, efficiency and operations
- Curriculum and faculty development
- Student involvement, procurement and dining
- Fleet and transportation
- Waste and recycling
- Communication
- Professional development
