Newly Admitted Honors Scholar Students

To accept your offer of admission to Hunter College, log into your CUNYfirst account and click on the tile labeled Admissions Center > View my Application Status > I Accept.

Commitment Deposit Deadline

Your commitment deposit must be received/postmarked by the above dates. For students who are admitted after the deadline, the commitment deposit is due two (2) weeks after the date you were sent your admission notification email.

Upload the Student FERPA Release and Acceptance of Program Rules and Terms document sent to you in the scholarship offer email. This can be found via the link provided in your acceptance email.

Prior to registering for classes, all students are required to submit:

• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunization records
• Meningococcal Meningitis information

For instructions on how to submit both, please visit the Immunization Records website.

Within five (5) business days after you have committed to Hunter College and submitted your deposit in CUNYfirst, you will be able to activate your Hunter College email account.

To access your Hunter email, please log-in to Microsoft Office 365 and click on the “Outlook” icon. Your log-in credentials are as follows:

• CUNYfirst username@MyHunter.cuny.edu (first.lastXX@myhunter.cuny.edu)
• Office 365 Password: Your CUNYfirst password

To access your Hunter email, enter your CUNYfirst username followed by @myhunter.cuny.edu at the login screen.

All official College communication will be sent to your Hunter College email address. Make sure to activate your Hunter College O365 email account immediately and make a habit to check it regularly.

Freshman Orientation is a mandatory one-day event for all incoming freshmen.

As you register for Freshman Orientation, be sure to update your Anticipated Major on the event registration form, as this information will be used to build out your first semester course schedule. Your course schedule will be ready to review approximately one week prior to Freshman Orientation.

How to Register for Orientation
The registration link for Freshman Orientation will be sent to your Hunter College (@myhunter) email address within 5-7 days of receipt of your deposit. Please check your Hunter College email account for your invitation to register the event.

Beginning May 2025, you will be invited via email to RSVP for a virtual Honors Scholar Advising and Registration session. Before attending your Advising and Registration session, be sure to review how to Prepare to Register below.

Your Hunter NetID username and password are required to register for a Group Advising Session. (See Step 2 above.)

The Pre-Orientation Module helps students prepare for in-person orientation by providing essential information about academics, policies, and support services. All students are required to complete the module prior to attending orientation day.
