New Student Guide for Freshmen

Students who have committed and deposited by May 1 should access the New Student Guide for Freshmen. The guide outlines everything you will need to do to successfully get set-up at Hunter College.

At Hunter, deposits are waived automatically for students who have a certain Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) on their FAFSA. Once you accept your offer of admission, CUNYfirst automatically adjusts the deposit if you qualify for this waiver.

After you have committed to Hunter, you will also be receiving a Registration Booklet that will introduce your program and let you know which courses and specific sections you'll be registering for in your first semester.

You will want to spend time reviewing the listed courses and prepare yourself to register on the day of your Group Advising Session. (Invitations will go out around May 15.)

You can use Schedule Builder in CUNYfirst to view your Enrollment Appointment (the earliest date and time you can self-register). You will only be able to enroll into courses starting on the date and time noted under Enrollment Appointment. For example, June 1 at 9:00 AM would mean that your "Get This Schedule" button will begin to work starting that date and time.
