Unlocking Knowledge Through Language and Literature

Hebrew, which is part of the Department of Classical and Oriental Studies at Hunter College, offers a rich and comprehensive series of courses covering the major areas of ancient and modern Hebraic studies and Hebrew language.

ABOUT

A Broad-Based Historical and Philosophical Approach to Hebrew Culture

Founded in 1941 and now one of the largest programs in Hebraic studies in the country, Hebrew offers a major in Hebrew and two minors, one in Hebrew concentrating on language and text study in the original, and the other in Hebraic Studies concentrating on culture and literature in translation.
