Review Full Policy on Repeating Courses
If you earn a failing grade (F or FIN) in a course and then retake the course in a subsequent semester, earning a grade of A, B, C, or P, both grades will remain on the transcript. However, the failing grade will no longer be calculated in your Hunter GPA. The The F-Repeat Policy is implemented automatically via CUNYfirst at the end of each semester and, therefore, it is no longer necessary for the student to complete the form.
No more than 16 CUNY credits may be deleted from the calculation of the GPA. The repeated course must be taken at the same college as the failed course.
For more information about course repeats, visit the Registration webpage or consult the Hunter College Undergraduate Catalog.
