Student Services

About

Co-curricular activities are a critical part of college experience, and the Division of Student Affairs offers a diverse range of programs and services to support student success. Our programs complement the learning that takes place in the classroom and enhance the overall educational experience of students. We also provide leadership and strategic support to these programs to help ensure that they are responsive to your needs as well as aligned with the core values of Hunter College.

We provide services to all students with permanent or temporary disabilities to ensure that all Hunter College programs and activities are accessible. Our office collaborates with all departments and divisions of the college to facilitate and advocate for students and assist students to maximize their potential, while helping them develop and maintain independence. Our philosophy is one that promotes self-awareness, self-determination, and self-advocacy in a comprehensively accessible environment.

Office of AccessABILITY

We review and process student admissions applications, answer questions, and help students transfer credits. Our primary responsibility is to maintain the integrity of the admissions process, thus ensuring efficient and systematic evaluation of credentials. We are also committed to recruiting students who have achieved academic excellence and reflect New York City’s diversity. We partner with NYC high schools and community organizations, offer pre-admissions academic advising, and host events and tours that educate prospective students about Hunter College. We also collaborate with other offices to provide programs and events for new Hunter students, including Hunter College Accepted Student Day.

Admissions & Recruitment

Our Academic Advisors provide Hunter’s undergraduates with information and advisement related to course and program requirements; curricular offerings; college procedures, regulations, policies, and personal concerns. We also offer specialized advising programs for different student communities, including:

We provide numerous recreational opportunities to the Hunter community, including: the fitness center; tennis and racquetball courts; swimming pool; and programs in yoga, pilates, kickboxing, core-robics and Zumba.

We offer a Preschool Program for children 2.5 years to 6 years old, and an After-school Program for children 6 to 12 years old. Our programs are open during the academic year as well as during summer sessions.
